Along with our amazing teachers and staff at Harding Street Elementary, parents play an important role within the community. A great way to contribute to this community is to become involved with the PTA. The PTA is a volunteer organization that works to build strong relationships among parents, teachers and the school administration in support of students. The PTA provides volunteer and financial support to enrich the curriculum provided by the Los Angeles School District. When you join the PTA, you become part of a network of parents and teachers working to enhance our children’s educational experience at Harding Street Elementary School.
Why Join the PTA?
Benefit your child: More than 30 years of PTA research has proven that children perform better when their parents are involved both at home and at school.
Advocate for change: PTA membership can be a way for you to more effectively suggest change at Harding. Only members can vote on where PTA funds are spent, what programs should be implemented, and overall PTA goals.
Influence legislation: Every member of our PTA gets counted toward the total number of PTA members in the state, thus allowing the California PTA to use those numbers when lobbying for legislation that is beneficial to our children at the local level.
Stay connected: PTA events are opportunities to meet other parents and teachers, build connections and discuss issues that are on your mind.
There’s no better way to know what’s happening in your school and be a part of making our school a better place for our kids to thrive and learn. Although welcomed and suggested, joining the PTA does not require any volunteer time on your part.
