Local school leadership council (LSLC)

The Local School Leadership Council (LSLC) of Harding Street Elementary School performs the following functions and responsibilities in shared decision-making:

  • Staff development program
  • Student discipline guidelines and code of student conduct
  • Schedule of school activities and events and special schedules
  • Guidelines for use of school equipment, including the copy machine
  • Local Budgetary matters:
    • Instructional materials

School SIte council (SSC)

The School Site Council  carries out the following duties:

  • Review recommendations for improvement of the Single Plan for Student Achievement (SPSA) from the English Learner Advisory Committee
  • Develop and approve the SPSA and related expenditures in accordance with all District, state and federal laws and regulations
  • Recommend the plan and expenditures to the LAUSD Board of Education for approval
  • Proved ongoing review of the implementation of the plan with the principal, teachers, school staff members, students, parents, and other stakeholders.
  • Make modifications to the plan whenever the need arises
  • Submit the modified plan to LAUSD Board of Education for approval whenever a material change is made in planned activities or related expenditures.
  • annually, and at each semester or trimester, by assessing data, evaluate the progress made toward school goals to raise the academic achievement of all students
  • develop the comprehensive safe school plan
  • carry out all other duties assigned by the LAUSD Board of Education and by state law.

English Learner Advisory Committee (ELAC)

English Learner Advisory Committee (ELAC)

  • Schools with 21 or more English Learners must form an English Learner Advisory Committee (Education Code, 52176 (b); BUL-6332.0, pg. 9)
  • ELAC’s purpose is to provide recommendations to the SSC regarding the five(5) mandated topics based on the student performance and parent involvement data. (BUL-6332.0, pg. 10)
    1. Single Plan for Student Achievement
    2. School’s language census
    3. Importance of regular school attendance
    4. Master Plan for English Learners  School Needs Assessment
    5. The Chairperson will automatically serve as the school’s representative to the Education Service Center (ESC) and Intensive Support and Innovation Center (ISIC) 2014 Delegate Convening.

 

Comité Asesor para Aprendices de Inglés (ELAC)

  • Las escuelas que cuentan con más de 21 estudiantes aprendices de inglés deben establecer un Comité Asesor para Aprendices de Inglés (Código de Educación, 52176 (b); BUL-6332.0, página 9)
  • EL propósito de ELA es de proporcionar recomendaciones al SSC, referentes a los cinco temas requeridos basadas en datos del rendimiento estudiantil y de la participación de los padres. (BUL-6332.0, página 10)
    1. Plan Único para el Rendimiento Académico Estudiantil
    2. Censo Escolar de los Idiomas
    3. La importancia de la asistencia regular a la escuela
    4. Plan Maestro para los Aprendices de Inglés
    5. Evaluación de las Necesidades Escolares
    6. El Presidente automáticamente fungirá como el representante de la escuela en la convocatoria de los delegados del 2014 del Centro de Servicios Educativos y del Centro de Innovación y Apoyo Intensivos (ISIC, por sus siglas en inglés)
